Uncle Fig Newton (yes, that was his name) inspired what would become HogWine. A true Southern gentleman, he lost his right arm in a farming accident at 30 but still managed to drink, smoke, and play golf with one arm. He was also an amazing chef, whipping up sauces and marinades with whatever he had on hand. Watching him cook inspired me to create HogWine in my own kitchen. For nearly 20 years, people have asked when I’d bottle my sauce, and after years of enjoying the process, I finally listened. What started as an experiment in 1976 is now affectionately known as HogWine.
